UK Housing and Planning Minister, Yvette Cooper announced on Tuesday 18 July that the Home Condition Report would no longer be a mandatory component of the Home Information Pack.
This statement was further debated in the House of Commons on Wednesday 19 July.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is discussing with the Department for Communities and Local Government and other interested bodies the implications on the home buying process of this announcement.
RICS recognises that members have a number of concerns and will make further statements as the situation becomes clearer.
