According to the latest Residential Property Price Report from the Land Registry, the average price for all property types in England and Wales in the period April to June 2006 was £199,184 compared with £184,184 in the same period last year, an increase of 7.71%. This is based on completed residential property sale prices during the period.
The largest increases were for "old" (ie not new) terraced homes, which showed an increase of 11.23% to a current average of £156,900. However the average price of new flats & maisonettes fell slightly by -1.33% to £188,411.
