An innovative property website which breaks new ground in the UK with a unique charging model and a sophisticated Google mapping at its heart has been launched by regional media group Archant.
The move is part of a broader digital development strategy at Archant that will mean new websites and business models introduced in the coming months in the other two big classified advertising areas: automotive and jobs. Archant's new digital strategy will also see new developments in how Archant delivers news, editorial and content to its customers online.
Advertising on the new property website - Homes24 - is free to estate agents, they only pay when viewings are arranged through the site. Access is free to consumers who can arrange property viewings through the site. The site is being launched across Norfolk and will be quickly rolled out across Archant's areas of operation in East Anglia, the Home Counties, London and many English counties linking up with its 80 plus regional newspapers and 40 plus county magazine titles.
Archant Regional development director Stephan Phillips is the driving force behind the site. He said: "Our unique charging system, which only kicks in when viewings are arranged through the site, sets us apart from all our competitors. On average it takes just 11 viewings to sell a property and we are taking all the risk from the estate agents."
