Aberdeen takes the crown
Source: http://www.ukpropertyshop.co.uk
Aberdeen in the north east of Scotland is a regular feature in the UK Property Shop Moving Location Index of most requested property locations, appearing in the top ten for each the last six months. Known as the "castle and whisky country", it not only attracts tourists, but also boosts the local property market and makes Aberdeen the top favourite for property enquiries in February.

Brighton, close behind in second spot, is also a firm favourite for home buyers, moving up from position three last month. It's attractions are legendary and too numerous to list. Visitors pour into Brighton all year round, as holiday makers, day trippers, business people and conference delegates. What they find is a town vibrant with activity with its "lanes" full of shops, bars and clubs - or you can just relax on the beach. With a rapid train service to London, you can easily work in the City and be home in time for a good meal, concert or your favourite night club.

Newcastle upon Tyne (top location in December), is holding up as a hot spot for moving home, or for a buy to let purchase. The investment in residential and commercial property over recent years is paying off, as well as improvements to the infrastructure, with many property buyers aspiring to relocate back into the city centre.

A constant feature of the Moving Location Index is the high proportion of towns located on or close to the coast, with around half of all the towns listed in the top 50 locations being situated by the sea. The West Country is a firm favourite, with towns such as Newquay, St Ives and Falmouth almost always featured, but in fact this phenomenon affects the whole country, from Inverness to Skegness to Porthcawl.
