Cornwall is way ahead of other counties when it comes to the nation's favourite places to live, according to the latest Moving Location Index published by UK Property Shop, with Newquay, Falmouth, Penzance and Truro also in the top 50 most popular towns in April.
Cumbria with its coastal attractions and ever popular Lake District comes in at No.2, with Aberdeenshire at No.3 sharing many of the same kinds of attractions but with Aberdeen city itself still the most popular location in the UK for home buyers.
The shire counties of Warwickshire (No.4), Somerset (No.5) and Shropshire (No.6) are perhaps the surprise, because few of their individual towns feature consistently in the Top 50 most desirable places to live, but these counties are attracting increasing numbers of home movers who clearly prefer the general environment and way of life enjoyed in these relatively rural communities and fall just outside the traditional London commuter zone, so house prices are also more down to earth.
