Brits love to buy beside the seaside
Source: http://www.ukpropertyshop.co.uk
According to the latest 'Moving Location Index' for May 2007 from UK Property Shop, Brighton is in top position, closely followed by Newquay and Weymouth. Clearly Brits still love to buy beside the seaside, as 8 out of the top 12 locations are coastal resorts, not counting Newcastle upon Tyne and Dundee that are located on rivers near the sea.

Relocating requires careful research to ensure the new abode is in an area that's on the up, so where are the most desirable UK places to buy a des res and not a dump? The Moving Location Index is a reflection of people's aspirations to relocate and capitalise on their property investment or who simply wish to achieve a high standard of living in a popular area.

Brighton features regularly in the Top 50 Towns League Table and was last voted top in May 2006, based on it combining the benefits of a Regency beach resort, strong on culture and entertainment, with proximity to London for those seeking "city living by the sea".

Other popular locations include Skegness (no. 6), Bournemouth (no. 11) and Eastbourne (no. 12).
