Severn Trent Searches (STS) has announced a significant boost to its business from the introduction of Home Information Packs (HIPs) and welcomed their extension to cover all residential properties from 14th December.
The company, which was already the biggest conveyancing searches provider in the Midlands (200,000 plus searches per annum), says that the introduction of HIPs in August has meant a significant rise in demand for its residential property services.
"There has been a high demand for our HIPs service, and at £300 (plus VAT) we are very price competitive" says General Manager Mark Jarvis. "Just as important though is what we believe to be a 'flight to quality' - a lot of new providers have entered the searches market but homesellers, solicitors and estate agents have turned to established, respected search providers like Severn Trent Searches because of their track record and strong service ethos. The staged introduction of HIPs means that buyers can be more confident than ever of a smooth and professional service because it has given us more time to streamline our processes and adjust services to the needs of the market".
STS is now completing 85% of its drainage and water enquiries within 3 working days, while the full HIP package takes a little longer because some of the other elements take more time to compile. The company has set up an online ordering service and says its team of fully trained Energy Assessors has sufficient capacity to satisfy new customers following the introduction of HIPs to all residential properties from 14th December.
